A brand new Publix is coming to Viera, Florida, spanning 48,367 square feet and bringing a distinctive addition to the landscape with its unique two-story design, which features a mezzanine.
As one of the company’s innovative two-story prototypes, the Publix Supermarket at Addison Center at Viera is set to open its doors this spring at 7655 Stadium Parkway, nestled within the 15-acre center plaza.
According to a site plan from The Viera Co., the entity responsible for commercial and residential development in Viera, the new Publix grocery store features a 1,400-square-foot liquor store, 344 parking spaces and five outparcel spaces along Stadium Parkway and Ivanhoe Drive.
As a Realtor with The Burgman Group, Shane Burgman works extensively in the Viera area. He said as far as he knows, this is going to be the only two-story Publix in the area with a mezzanine that will be used primarily for dining.
“The addition of the new Publix will not only appeal to new buyers but will also be a huge value add for existing homeowners,” Burgman said. “Viera is attractive due to the existing conveniences already in place e.g., Avenue, Costco, restaurants, etc. Adding Florida’s favorite grocery store right down the street is a huge bonus and will make this booming area even more desirable.”

The new location is situated quite close to two existing Publix Super Markets in the area — each less than 4 miles away. But while the choice to build multiple Publix Supermarkets in a single area has sparked debate across social media, it’s certainly not unprecedented.
About 20 minutes outside of Jacksonville, Florida, the coastal community of Neptune Beach is home to two (side by side) Publix Super Markets, located a mere 250 feet from each other. Similarly, in St. Augustine, Florida, two Publix stores are situated across the street from one another — or about 1,600 feet apart.
New Publix Supermarkets across Florida
Publix presently manages a network of 1,367 stores across Florida, Georgia, Alabama, Tennessee, South Carolina, North Carolina, Virginia and Kentucky. Florida is home to 924 stores, and so far this year, six more have already popped up across the Sunshine State.
Most recently, on Feb. 15, a new Publix opened in the Tradewinds Plaza at 101499 Overseas Highway in Key Largo. On Feb. 8, Publix doubled down with the grand opening of two Florida supermarkets on the same day — in Boynton Beach and Fort Myers.

Earlier this year, Publix also opened stores in Sanford, Panama City and Wesley Chapel.

Publix will host a two-day interview event from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday, Feb. 23, and Saturday, Feb. 24, at the nearby Publix at Stadium Corners at Viera, located at 5380 Stadium Parkway in Rockledge.
Everyone is invited to attend, but company officials ask that you complete your Publix application online, ahead of the event. According to the job search engine SimplyHired, attendees should bring two forms of identification and be prepared to wait for an interview.

Food service experience is required for some roles and preferred for others — but mainly, hiring managers are seeking friendly people who are good at customer service. Applicants must be at least 18 years old to work in the meat, deli or pharmacy departments and at least 16 to work in the grocery stocking, produce or bakery departments.
